Preserving Tradition, One Jar at a Time
At Sweet Spoon Baking Company, every jar tells a story—one that started generations ago in Minto, New Brunswick.
My grandmother was a hairdresser who raised four daughters on a coal miner’s penny. She relied on canning and preserves not just to stretch a dollar, but to feed her family. What started as a means of survival became a labour of love, passed down through the hands and hearts of my mother and her sisters.
In the 1990s, both my mother and aunt hosted a television show called Put a Lid on It—a tribute to the art of preserving and the traditions that shaped them. With Sweet Spoon Baking Co., I’m proud to carry the torch.
Everything we make is rooted in that legacy: small-batch, locally sourced, no shortcuts. Just real fruit, real flavour, and a deep respect for where it all began.
